The AS-Interface master is the communications link between the AS-i network and the host controller.
The AS-i master transfers sensor and actuator signals to the host controller like PLC while controlling data transfer via the AS-i cable automatically.
The master also has a self-diagnosis function for slave configuration information as well as checking communication scan. With this function, the AS-i master not only recognizes failures, but allocates correct addresses automatically when the disconnected slaves are re-installed following removal for maintenance.
The master thus automatically executes all the functions required for normal AS-Interface operation.
